LYDEC (Casablanca/Morocco), the operator of the water and wastewater services of the Casablanca Region, has awarded to a consortium led by PWT the design, construction, erection and commissioning of the Nouaceur wastewater treatment plant. The wastewater treatment plant will receive the effluent produced in the Nouaceur (SAPINO) industrial district, one of the most important industrial areas in the region. The treatment capacity will be realized for designed 2,000 m³/d and 4,000 m³/d at the final stage.
The process shall cover full mechanical and biological treatment (extended aeration in oxidation channels) including sludge dewatering treatment by centrifuges. The plant includes screens, grit chamber, buffer tank, aeration tank, final clarifiers, sludge thickeners, sludge dewatering and sludge conditioning. Odour treatment is done using bio-filters.
